Pater Lieven Tripel

Formato 33 cl., alc. 8%, lotto L112, scad. 18/06/2012, prezzo 2.14 €.

english summary:
Brouwerij Van den Bossche, St. Lieven-Esse, Belgium.
Nice hazy golden colour with a frothy white head. Aroma is flowery, citrusy with sweet sugar. This Tripel becomes much more interesting when temperature rises up, developing some wine-alike traits. The aroma spreads a certain woodiness, with dried fruits and a light acidity. It’s a very carbonated beer which needs to settle down a bit. A first touch of malt, fruity yeasts and light spiciness is turning with a warmer temperature into an apricot and white grape fruitness with a woody touch. Nice dry mouthfeel, and warm bittersweet aftertaste. Alcohol (8%) well hidden. A good tripel, but only if you let it warm up. Bottle: 33 cl., 8% ABV, batch L112, bb. 18/06/2012, 2.14 €.
